Finally, I have a FD. She needs some love, but she has good bones and a fresh motor.
Hello all,
I have been using RX7 club for around 15 years to help with my builds throughout the years but never joined. I have appreciated the experience and knowledges passed on through this forum and hope to continue to learn all I can about these cars.
I have had around 16 years tinkering and driving RX7s. Several FC NAs and one S5 TII that I had and drove nearly daily for 10 years. I have been out of the rotary world for 4 years. ( work and kids taking priority )
I decided that with the rising cost it was now or never to invest. I purchased a RHD 93 FD with a fresh motor and will begin the tranformation into something a little more my style.
Don’t mind the front bumper. I’m fairly certain it will fall off before I even make it back home. Interior is pretty solid for the most part, just a little faded. Probably the smoothest running of any rotary I have owned. I will be quickly working to change out some of the exterior bits. This kind of tuner is really not my style. However, I saw a lot of potential in this car.
She needs some love. Fiberglass kit on it is all torn up and I need to figure out if they cut the corner panels. But I see the potential. The car came with a fresh petite build engine and install, rebuilt twin turbo, PFC, and Work equips with new Nittos. I am still working out the full list of modification. As far as I can tell most reliability mods have been done. (Unfortunately I left the country the day I bought it. So I haven’t really had time to dig into it fully.)
The car drives amazing and I am really excited to begin my journey with this car.
Welcome!!! It does look like it will be a great car to restore! What are your plans with the body? Go back to a more stock appearance? I think I'd likely take that approach as the body kit and tall rear spoiler are not my thing. Either way, looking forward to seeing where you go with the car!

yeah hoping I can bring it back to more of a stock appearance. The wing will go for sure. I will go wingless for now and keep an eye out for a 99 spec spoiler. If the rear was cut then I will keep the over fenders for now until I can go with a style I like more. I feel like the flat edges detract from the overall lines of the FD.
