Back again on an FB!!

Hello everyone. My first post here. My name is Hector and originally from 🇵🇷 Puerto Rico but I live in Allen Tx. I've had like 5 FB's thru different times in my life. The first one was on 1988, I had an 1983 GSL and the last one was a 1984 GSL in 2005. A couple of months ago I got bit by the bug again and bought a 1982 GSL original motor.

Thank for letting me be a part of this forum....

Here is a pics of the car....
This is her. 1982 GSL with factory 12a...everything on...emissions, factory exhaust...rats nest....everything.... The last time it was registered was on 2014....and was neglected under the sun....

That car was posted for sale at offerup... The "new" owner got it as a payment for a job he did but the lady that owened the car didn't have the wole amount to pay him. So he took the car and posted it for sale for $1200.00. I went to see the car and I was disappointed to the fact that the interior was trashed.

The car was last registered on 2014 and Im guessing she lived until she got given away in the sun... I called the guy and I told him that was not worth 1200... I offered him 600.00 for it and he went down to 800.00.

He told me that he couldn't start it. I told him that I was going to go with the trailer to pick it up that if I could get her started. i will give him 700.00 if not the price was going to drop and he accepted.

I went and try everything to get her started but the started was dead...

After a while I got her in the trailer with the title in my hand and paid....$400.00 for her....

And now I started the process of getting her back to her old glory....

You got an excellent deal on the car!! I think the car has a lot of potential, and being a Texas car, you shouldn't have to worry about the rust issues that plague the early cars. Were you able to get the engine started yet?

No.... I have not started her yet. I got the new starter installed, fix a problem with the fuel pump and new spark plugs and cap and rotor... I tried to get her going but she will crank and try to run but didn't happened..

I started checking everything and found that one of the coils was not throwing a spark so I went and got a pair of new Accel coils but I haven't tried to started her again yet.

I started focusing on the suspension and brakes rather than the motor. I'm going to strip the Nikki and get rid of the rat's nest and everything else to then get her started....

At least that's the plan for now..
