Hi my name is DeRick, I'm 22. I am a first time owner of an RX7. Alot of my friends have RX7's of various years and body styles. I guess you could say they kind of pulled me in from my honda lifestyle haha. i am currently in the process of restoring my old beat up RX7 to its former glory then turbo charging it. itll be a trial being as this is my first carb induction engine build and ontop of that its my first Rotary. but i want to do it right and i know for sure there are guys here that can help me. so be looking for me to ask questions. haha have a good one ill post pictures given its rough. but itll get there one day.

Welcome, I grew up in Wichita and never saw many RX7's. Glad you converted over.

I lived there for two years in the early eighties-I liked it alot better than Michigan.

Yes i will be sticking with the stock nikki carb. being as mine is already upgraded somewhat ill need bigger jets though because it breaks up at about 6k rpm. even with the fuel pressure on 6 psi haha and my pump runs at 7psi so i know i have the pressure there. and that non turbo at the moment. but im doing research and messing (tuning :P) things to get it ready.

Also no it wasnt sitting outside of a repair shop but it was sitting on the street for a while because it recently has had starting issues that i cant figure out. That i posted in the new member tech section.

I don't leave town much, but I will be in Wichita in March for an import car shindig my friend keeps telling me about (March 17th?). My RX should be up and running by then. We should have a RX7 meetup then.

 

Yea man sounds good to me. hopefully i can educate my self a little more about these cars by that time so i can sound like i know what im talking about instead of using my car as the test subject haha. and lordy willing itll be tuned right and alot faster than it is now haha sitting at 225hp and 205ft lbs :P ohhhhh and neo=chrome engine components to start the cosmetic build part haha.
