Hello everyone, my 21 year old son and I have purchased a completely, factory original Havana Brown SA 22 GSL down to the original paint. I am looking forward to learning so much more about my car and others on these forums.

 

Congrats and welcome! Technically, your car is an FB (81-85). SA's were the 1st two years (79-80) due to the S/N beginning with the prefix of SA22C. In 81 the US required a new 17 digit VIN structure which led to Mazda to switch to the FB01 prefix. They are all (79-85) 1st gen models. Gen 2 began in 86 with the FC's.

This should be a good father / son project and this place is a great resource for guidance and info.

 

Thanks for the info. See. Learned something already. My son actually chose this because of the racing games he plays. I graduated from high school in 84, so these cars were special to me then and of course, now.
