you need to give the type-x its recommended power to see its full potential. From what I understand they dont perform well under-powered. Its a good sub, are you looking for spl or sq?

spl or sq? im kind of a retard when it comes to audio. what do those mean?

spl=loud and lots of bass
sq= sound quality, good precision bass, not that loud. Want a mix of both? Image Dynamics IDQ v3, the best of both worlds, world class sub.

i'd be more concerned with sound quality over volume. but a mix wouldn't be bad at all either. i'll check out the idq v3. thanks for the info!

go with JL Audio 10W7.... I had the opportunity to play with many sound systems and my 7 is running 2x JL 10W7. They give the tight bass you'll be looking for and it can outrun most 12".... audiophile quality!!!

I had a 10w7 as well and it is a great sub. My buddy has it is his s10 now and it still sounds great.
