Views on Bazooka Tubes
Thinking of installing an Active Bazooka Tube into the boot of my lovely car!
Would appreciate any views on people that may have bought this product for their car.
Seems that Rockford Fosgate are also now making an active tube as well, anyone tried one of these?
Just looking for something easy to remove when the boot's needed........(it's already got one amp in it!).

my friend, and fellow forum member, has an amplified bazooka that fits lengthwise against the rear strut brace. it sounds very good, and by this time, the factory blowse system will need to be replaced anyway..

I have had 2 8inch Bazookas for the past 5 years and they sound really nice. They are very easy to remove when you need to. They also do not weigh that much either.

There's a difference with being an audiophile and an "attention-****." Anyway it depends on how much u like ur in to sound. Bazooka tubes are a joke when compared to some other real subs. I'd only buy them if you are lookin for a sub to fit w/in a space, not if you want the best sound.

The previously owner of my car took extremely good care of it (founded San Diego Rx7 club) he had the bose speakers replaced with boston acoustics which easily make enough bass...however, they do rattle a TINY little bit, so I'm thinking of installing the bazooka tube the second owner of the car bought to reduce this.
I used to work for Bazooka and here is the deal. The 10" tubes aren't the way to go. The 8 inchers have much better quality sound. In an FD I would use either one 61/2 inch tube or one 8 inch tube. The air space in an FD is tight enough for one tube, any more than that is silly. The tubes are great quality, and I definetly recommend them.
Thanks for all the views..........(looks like I've started an argument!)
I know that a Bazooka Tube is never gonna be as sonically as good as a custom installation Subwoofer in a box, but as long as the unit gives good performance, is easy to remove, and can't be seen by the prying eyes of thieves then I'll be happy.
The most popular install for subs in RX7's seems to be a free air model model mounted in the rear self.
I've seen some sports cars which have units built into the passenger foot well which is an interesting idea but is prone to being seen by thieves, and of course reduces the leg room by some margin!
There's a dealer in London that have some models in stock. I hope I can try one on my setup and see if it does justice to the rest of the system........
