suggestions needed on this fix

well i was driving on the freeway yesterday and i noticed that my passenger side headlight cover was moving around quite a bit so when i got home i took a look and this is what i found.

as you can see the plastic has broken off. now i'm the type of guy that would normally just superglue that **** right back on but i figured i would run this across you guys to see if you have any better ideas.

i know i could prolly find another cover somewhere but my car is painted candy apple red with gold flakes so paint matching the cover to the rest of the car will be a total pain in the ***.

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

You can get it at AutoZone and most other stores that have an automotive section. Watch what you buy as there is JB Weld for metals and then one for everything else.

Do not drive it on the freeway until you fix it.... that lid is just waiting to fly right off.... plastic weld is good... the stuff I used was like a clay you kneed then formed it all around the weak spots ... I built it up and now it is stonger then new...

Ya, just recently happened to me. On a MAJOR highway and it flew off. Cool thing..I was going 90 and it flew off, the aerodynamics on the car is amazing. The lid never hit my car, just flew in the line of the wind and over a car maybe 50 feet. back. Needless to say I punched it just in case it did damage someones car.
