Question Sub woofer setup

Okay so I did a search on this forum for help setting up a sub. I didn't find much., I was just wondering if anyone has tried to put a 12" sub into the gate, between the seats and the trunk, that removeable hatch, you know? All I have is a 12, and if I could put it in that I thik it would be awsome, becasue I would be able to remove it for AutoX and other events. Thanks. PS free feel to post pics of your setup here.

Thanks again, Xeros

i dont think that would be a very good idea. The plastic would vibrate a lot, not to mention those little snaps on top that hold it in place arent exactly the most sturdy thing in the world. IMO, a custom box would be a much smarter way to do things.

See signature, i've got a picture of my 10" setup.
I doubt you will be able to put a 12 in there without removing the strut bar.

Edit:

It goes about 2 inches more towards the seat, and it would go even farther if the amp wasnt there.
Im selling the setup infavor of 4 6x9's that will be going in the stock locations, as the sub setup eats most of my useful space.
I will be moving my battery down to where the spair tire was.

Make a false floor box that goes where the spare tire is.

Either put a custom box where the spare goes, or get a bass tube.

My previous FD had a 12 in. pioneer premier free-air sub in the seperator. It was installed by a previous owner. It sounded like $h!t.

On my new FD, I think I'll be going with an Infinity basslink, since they can be gotten for around $200. It should be easy to remove for such events. And it obviously will be an easy install. Others on the forum have put them in as well. The consensus is that they're very "musical" and clean sounding, but not very loud.

It's not hard. The front of my enclosure kit slopes behind the divider. Single 10" with the amp on the front behind the divider.

Sorry, no kits available at this time!

I have 2 12" JL W3s in the back of my FD. I had a custom box made for it wasn't realy anyting to fancy. Fits right in the back end and I was able to keep my spare tire too.

Heres a pic of my setup with 2 12's. It could be made to hold only one... You would need to cut down the volume of the box somehow though.

I have the amp on the backside of the box, hidden behind the divider with some little quick release wire connectors. Therefor whenever I dont want the weight or sound or need storage room, it just lifts right up.
