i hated my sony cd player in my rx7. I had one in each of my 90 GXL and 87 TII... both sounded like ****. I'm not sure if it was the player, speaker, placement, etc., but i just didn't like the sony cd player.

Alot of people don't like pioneer for one reason or another, but i just picked up the DEH7600MP for my Blazer and so far i love it.

I have a Sony tape deck with a 10 disc changer, Rockford amp, capacitor, and speakers and all Rockford wireing and a Clarion 12" sub. Little bit of everything, but they all work great together, no complaints

bad stuff IMO, only decks i would ever buy would be made by either: Eclipse, Alpine, or the premier series by Pioneer, and in that order.

The higher end Sony receivers are good quality. Very very few get brought back for breaking. The lower Sony models, are crap.

For the money, go for Pioneer. Very good quality for cheap. Can't go wrong.

I personally have an Alpine mp3/cd in my FD. I love it. Not flashy like the Pioneers and Panasonics.

Look into Sony's ES (Elevated Standard) and now Xplod series.

And Pioneer's Premier line is on the same level.

Personally, I'd go with Pioneer's source units, but you can't go wrong with either.

i've got a sony cd-xm800 in my FB, i've got no complaints
it's also one of their higher end head units, but like speedking said earlier, lower models of sony's head units are garbage, don't waste the money

for my system i went with the sony head unit, rockford amp and wiring, pioneer two way's up front, four ways in back and components behind the seats...it bumps alright and serves the purpose of the music i listen to

good luck
