For those of you who got your windshields replaced what do you recommend? OEM from the dealer? Also have heard good things about Safelite. Any comments. What places have you tried, I live in the Portland area.

i need a new windsheild its got little spots all over it it get hard to see through in direct sunlight and it has a chip in it, i think i'll look around for a replacement

 

exactly how close do you live to portland ? if real close call 1-800-464-0009 ext.101 i work there and thats my mothers extension i would like to see an rx-7 in the auto glass bay it's in portsmouth and safelite sucks!!!! NH no taxes!!!!!!!

hehe, i work for Safelite, the windshield in general isnt cheap. i would suspect mazda is 10x more..but we usually do warranty replacements for free, if the windshield were to crack due to stress.

 

How about places like Speedy or Apple Auto Glass? Any experience?

 

i work at safelite also. you get a national lifetime warranty. you'll never have problems w/ it. and unlike small glass shops its a national company. so anywhere you go you have the warranty and there's a shop around to help you if you ever have any problems. sorry i'm in sales. and i dunno about the 2nd gen but the 3rd gen is about 200 bucks for the w/s but it takes a oem molding and that's about 90. i'll check on yours for you. just need your zip and some car info. but another thing. we don't service canada

 

i believe its 190+tax to be exact..im about to get a new windshield for my 2nd gen..sucky thing is, is that we dont show a part number for the molding..my guess was it was an OEM. but we list OEM parts too..wierd.

 

Windshield with the molding should be $200 USD installed
any glass shop has the molding, no need to use some $90 extra OEM molding
