remove marks from glass?

dumb question, but can swirl marks be removed from glass? I used a scrub pad to remove some chalk from my window and it scratched it like swirl marks. I did not think that glass would scratch. Dumb me.

Anyone know?

(I know this thread is retarted)

Eastwood sells a kit for polishing windshields which consists of a felt buffer and some Cerium oxide polishing medium. I haven't used it, (yet), but the theory is sound. They say you can polish out scratches which are not deep enough to hang up a fingernail. I'm assuming the scratches are nowhere near that deep on yours. If you use this kit, please post feedback so others on this board can benefit from your experience! Good luck! -WG

I don't know if they have a website or not. Check in some hot rod type magazines for Eastwood's advertisement. -WG

I've used a glass polishing compoound on my Miata. It wasn't Eastwood, but probably similar. Anyway, it worked really well and removed all the little surface scratches.

RainX makes a Glass Polish also, It takes LOTS of elbow grease to remove even small stains/scratches by hand - You will probably want to use a buffing pad on an orbital polisher.

This site has alot of good products for paint/exterior such as waxes, sealants, polishes, etc. Pretty good prices as well. This link is to their page on the glass polishing. http://www.properautocare.com/polishglass.html
