lol "flashy paint job" ...kind of a left handed compliment, however i think if you're intrested in picking up girls by just driving by them in your car then a body kit and & a flashy paint job is the best investment in your car you can make...
and a lot of them...
LOL word last fd ive seen had a group of like 6 guys at a gas station gawking over a red jdm 92 rx7 type r. i was suprised that a random gas station in hollywood would have so many people that are into this kind of stuff...
I'm fairly certain Pure knows I wasn't bagging on his car...considering I know him personally. I love aero but my color tendencies run a bit more conservative. I was expecting the car to look nice...but I was very, very impressed...and it was night!
If you're going to paint the faces a dark color (matte black or matte gun metal), have you considered getting the rivets painted too? I think black rivets are a subtle but great way to do the 3 piece meisters.

Thanks for the picture Doug. That looks incredible, I really like the black rivets. I went to see the powdercoater today and saw a satin finish, not sure if I really like it. I have been thinking about volk diamond black, black chrome, a reallllly dark gray or ?

heres few tips on those finishes.
diamond black- this is going to be an extremely good looking and unique finish, it will work especially well with a brightly colored car as it will contrast well with a bright color yet still look good because of its metallic qualities. This is a good finish because in the event you damage your wheel/wheel finish it is repairable because it is a paint finish.
black chrome- this is going to look great as well and is really in style however doing these finishes as a custom job is SUPER expensive from every resource ive talked to. Keep in mind a few companies such as HRE make this finish stock and even from the factory this finish will cost you often the value of the wheel. The major setback ive come to from looking into this finish however is the durability. the nature of the finish is not as strong as a regular chrome and over time will oxidize/discolor and flake. keep in mind you will eventually hit a pothole or ding the finish unless you are going to drive your car really slowly all the time and repairing this finish is probably going to mean re-chroming the entire wheel...$$$$$$$$$$$$

I also want to stay away from something that blends too much into the car like gloss black does, you can't see the lines of the wheel. Went through a similar thought process when painting my wheels. Still trying to get the color just right, went from a darker black to more of a gunmetal. If the gunmetal is right this time I'll send you a pic to see what you think. Love the choices you've made in your build, looks great!

Titanium piping can not be mandrel bent. Hence why the use angle cuts and welds to form ti piping.
the dual discharge on the down pipe is for the wastegate to purge separate from exhaust so they dont "clutter" in the piping they flow smoother and faster, then they meet later down the piping where the momentum is already built up leaving the system.
also IMHO i think you need to stay away from all black wheels' my reasoning is this; if you are planning to drop some real dough on these wheels you want them to be seen and admired whereas all black wheels you cannot easily make out the design of the wheel.
call me crazy but i think a bright gold wheel would look outstanding with your paint scheme.

haha i wouldnt be able to make a useful post if rx7club didn't preach to me. but back on topic, your car is a tasteful build and your doing things how i would do them and is going to be killer in my book when its done so it deserves good advice. the black chrome wont get dirty because chrome is a type of plating and generally plated finishings are very resistant to brake dust, notice how regular chrome wheels are easy to clean because of its hard non porous surface? it'll keep grime froms sticking heavily. good call with scratching the powdercoat, these finishes do not look as good as you think they will because these are mostly industrial finishes and dont look good for car wheels, and a matte/satin finishes are going to make it worse and they will attract dirt easily and will show surface scratches easily.
and those gold vsxx's would be MONEY too on red paint. great suggestion. also look into iforged multipiece honeycombs as a substitue for the works if you want an american brand. im pretty partial to honeycombs on sportscars, i mean mazda put them on the RS RZ and Spirit R stock it'll look perfect.

Finally was able to install the side generators today. Here is how the bodyshop attached the diffuser:
I did NOT like how the screws were facing up at all so when I installed the side generator I reversed it:
MUCH better this way and not noticeable at all. Had to take the whole diffuser off the car which was a pain.

Okay, now I was having a problem with my arc ti sitting to close to the rear bumper as you can see:
It needs to be pushed further out. If I loose the bolts and push it back I get about 2.5" of room
I need to figure out how to create a spacer or something to extend it. I then took off the exhaust as sitting around the body shop for 4 months did some serious damage. Time to refinish it:

and for that exhaust issue im glad you posted pictures of that because i have a very simular situation where i the exhaust is far too close to my bumpers paint, i am going to be putting a carbon fiber bumper guard on with double sided 3m adhesive but i also want to figure out how to push the canister out so the tip isnt letting off exhaust right onto my paint. i also think my exhaust looks too recessed in the first place. let me know what comes up on making a spacer. that i have 3 inch piping on my midpipe and 3 as well on my catback. also would be pissed of the bodyshop did that to my titanium exhaust?? how much of that damage did they do?

be careful using a spacer that might be too rigid as it will cause mind numbing vibrations.
you need something heat resistant although gives play like a rubber hanger but wont melt.

That is a good point, but I would think the stiffer it is the less movement it would have?

Ordered a set of 305.30.19 Michelin Pilot Sport 2's last night, need to get the front tires. Also havent heard back from the powdercoater in Tampa so I need to find a new place to get them powdercoated. Issue is more on the powdercoat then the tires. Should have everything done in 2 weeks. Hopefully.
