Popping from subs when turning off car

Hey, this is a question from my friend. He recently installed a pair of 12's in his car with a single amp to power them. Whenever he turns off his car, they emit a "pop" noise. Is it because the headunit is turning off before the amp gets the signal or what? I can't remember what the solution to this problem was.

It's called a "soft turn on/off." It might be because the HU is turning off its preamp before powering off the remote line.

That's "turn off thump". Try turning the volume to 0 before turning off the car.

could also be that RCAs are near the power cable.
