Cool Lets Talk About Car Alarms

I'am in the market for an alarm. I have always dealt with clifford alarms. That's all I know but I don't want a clifford this time. I want simplicity. Door sensors and glass sensor and vibration sensors. Pretty standard alarm. I need to know what are the decent brands out there and a relative price. Again I don't know any other alarms except Clifford and if you know them they are not simple. I had it on my rx7 before and other cars, it was just that the rx7 didnt except the clifford one to well. Have heard other rx7's having problems with cliffords as well. Any recomendations?

i just recently got an alarm on my fd...i got the viper esp800 which is exactly what i was looking for. i didn't like the remote start feature on any alarms because starting it up cold the rpm's would slowly raise to 3grand and that was no good (damn stock ecu!!!) so i didn't bother with that and i didn't want to pay an additional 100 bucks for that feature. so..my alarm is real simple, all the basic sensors and more. the alarm is also compatible with my turbo timer so that works out well, i can arm the alarm while the cars on which was a good feature (i had problems at first, but my alarm guy fixed it up) also i got an actuator installed on the driver door lock so i've got power locks as well *not that it didn't have it before, just now i can have keyless lock and entry. so..i really like the viper esp800 and i picked it up from circuit city for a decent price. hope that helps feedback wise...

Yes that was very helpful and infact I was looking at that exact Viper model. How much was your acuator and install? I like the keyless lock and entry but never got it because I needed the acuator.
