I think JT was alluding to this, but i have the carbon fiber "look" kind with a rubber grip in front, if anyone wants me to take pics of that i'd be glad to.

I told him that and its true. Just look at the pic you included, and how the stock shift boot ring is smaller than the base. BTW I had one for two years.

It feels just a tiny bit bigger in your hand, and it tapers less than the stock **** so it'a larger at the base. Not so much that it's a big deal. The leather MS **** is still your best option for a stock-like replacement.

I sat in a car w/ a leather MS ****, and my impression was that it was the same as stock. My bad. I suppose there is a difference, albeit marginal.
