A buddy of mine ( 2 fb's and one rx8 ) wants to get his rx8 painted by me after I did some body work on a few panels and cleared the tails of his 8. This is solid black base coat. On the left of the panel is 2 coats of clear with red dry pearl mixed in and one coat on the right of the panel. Both sides have 2 more coats of normal clear over the pearl. Tell me which side you like more I'm leaning toward the right, which is a bit more black.

The test panel is my fd's old fender so no one is confused lol.

I like the left side of the panel. To me it shows the color much better than the right side and makes the color pop much more. That is a very nice color.

 

The color is actually black. Red is the pearl. Thanks though!

 

Left side looks better. If you're going that dark I feel it should be more black or brown with a black pearl tint over it.

 

I've never heard of black pearl but I'd imagine it'd give it a dusty/dirty look, no luck on a painters thread on the forum huh?
