New alarm system decisions

Ok, I started to look for some alarm systems on e-bay, and found a good one for $75. It has no remote start, but every other feature I wanted. I didn't want remote start anyways because I don't want to "flub" up my car...sometimes the cold start sticks, heh.

It doesn't have a radar parimeter sensor either, but I figure that I can add one later, just waiting on the seller to answer that question.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

So, what do you think of that with an added motion sensor? Do you think I will be moderatly safe?

The reason I'm doing this is because my school has had allot of breakins lately, and I want to keep my fc the way it is. So thanks for any replies...later

Ha, I just realized how bad that question sounded. If someone answered it it would just make it that much easier for criminals, heh. Never mind then, guess I'll just go this one alone...later

Like herblenny I also have the clifford matrix (from the features he described he has the 3.5x, where as I have the 2.5x. The difference being the remote start and built in turbo timer.)

I can speak first hand and say the clifford alarm is the best on the market. For a good alarm, one with engine kill (in 4 zones), motion sensor (as an add on), remote start (as an add on), and all the other features, you are looking at around 6-700. A $75 alarm will give you exactly what you pay for - a noisy siren that no one looks at.

The clifford also has a 1/4 mile range on the paging system (pages the responder when the alarm goes off and lets you know what zone of the car the alarm eminates from) so you can call the police even before you arrive.

All in all, the 3.5x is the way to go (if remote start isnt illegal on 5-spds in your state) or if it is, go 2.5x. I got mine for $399 installed!

Good luck.

Steve

1.Anti-false alarm:

Press the key once, the loudspeaker will give a short beep, the direction light will flash, the door and the engine will be locked at the same time. By the first shocked (not intentional), the loudspeaker will give beeps for 5s, the direction light will flash. By the second shocked, the
loudspeaker will sound the alternating panic alarm. The driver's BP pager will give the continual beeps.

2.Mute arm

Shortly press the key, the direction light will flash once. By the first touched, the direction light will flash for 5s; by the second touched, the direction light will automatically flash for 15s; the driver's BP pager will beep at the same time.

3.Emergency alarm

In arm mode, if the car door opens or the system is in ACC.ON and brakes status, the loudspeaker would shout for a long time, the pager would beep at the same time.

4.Disarm

In the arming status, press the key once, the loudspeaker would give 2 beeps, the direction light will flash twice; in the mute arming status, press the key, the system is in disarm mode and the direction light will flash twice.

5.Automatic re-arming

The system will re-arm when the car door is not open in 25s.

6.Remote open the trunk

In arm mode or the car is parked, press the key for 3.5s, trunk will open, that is convenient for carrying the luggage.

7.Anti-copy

Adopting the "keeloq technology" for code rolling and code hopping of America icrochip co. The code recording is kept absolutely secret with anti-copy and anti-stop code.

8.Central locking system

The central locking system will lock the car door if stop the car after 15s' driven. The door will open automatically when the engine is locked. In driving condition, press the key , the central locking system is locked, press the key , the door open.

9.Locating car with sound and light

10. Emergency Assistance

Continually press the key twice in any condition; the loudspeaker will give beeps for 30s, the light will flash simultaneously. Press any keys again, it will stop.

11. Anti-robbery, anti-hijacking

If robbed by gangster in driving car, press the key for 2s, the car light will flash urgently; Press the key , the loudspeaker will shout loudly after 15s, the car will be forced to stop.

12. LED Memory

Normal condition: flash twice; malevolent offense condition: flash three times; opening door condition: flash continuously

13. Indicator for unlocked door

In arm mode, the loudspeaker shout 3 beeps, which means the car door is not locked well, the driver must check it, close the door again and start the alarm system.

14. Indicator for parked car
Toprotect the passengers in driving cars, the direction lights will flash when the car door open, which notice the following cars to avoid the car accidents.

15. Emergency disarming
If the remote controller is lost, the driver only need to press the emergent disarm key to disarm 16. Calling driver
system. (The key is on the mainframe's side as the same of mouse side. inside the pin hole)

16. Driver paging function(calling dirver system): When the alrm is armed, you can page the driver only by tapping the communication module(with paging sensor inside) 3 times, usually mounted on the front windshield, the direction light will blink 3 sec and remote will beep 6 times. ( you already have experienced in hot/cold parking lot that your driver is gone and you are waiting forever.....,no cell phone, don't have his/her phone#, you need this function)

17. Code learning

If the original remote control is lost or damaged, you can consult the dealers or buy the other one of the same type. Place the batteries, find out the emergency-disarming key by the side of mainframe. Give a long press on the key, turn the car key to the ON state 3 times. Press any keys on the new remote controller, the direction light will flash once. Press any keys on another new remote controller, the car light will flash twice. (If only one remote controller is learnt code, you must press any keys twice on that remote controller.), release the urgent switch, the mainframe is not in code learning mode, the new remote controller can be used.
(Max 2 remote controller can be code learnt for one mainframe)

Adjustment of shock sensor

The L.E.D indicator on the shock sensor will flash when it is activated, and the **** on the shock sensor can be adjusted with screwdriver. (Right turning means the more sensitivity,
otherwise the less.) Don't straightly beat the shock sensor lest it is damaged. The shock sensor has to be closer to the car body or the gauge panel to attain the best effect.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

you might saw the other LCD alarm with remote start in ebay, but You need to know, that kinds of alarm has drawback, we do not recommend the autostart option in the alarm, car thief can easily steal your car without key (it is very simple) please do not provide the any option for them. ( just make it hard for them , then they will not steal your car)
It has pretty much everything besides a motion sensor. What makes the features on the matrix better that the features on this one? I really don't want to spend that much, I just want it to be safe from highschoolers...later
