Memory Fab R98 or Sparco Chrono Road seats

Does anyone have either of these seats in their FD? I know someone has the Memory Fab bucket, but I want a reclining seat. I really like the Chrono Road but I've looked at the specs and the shoulder bolsters look to be a problem. Then again, there aren't many aftermarket reclining seats that AREN'T a problem for the FD.

I'm also wondering about whether R98 fits in our cars or not. I want that seat...

I was looking at some Recaro Speed seats too, they look like the shoulder bolsters would fit anyway, not sure about the bottoms, they look a little wide.

I just ordered a pair of chrono road seats. so I can tell you if they fit. just give me a week or two.
Both the boltsters width and the shoulders width could be a problem after my measurements. But how exact is the sparco spec? The mm spec and the " spec from sparco are never exactly the same. Anyhow, I hope I get the seats sometime next week. So If they fit they will be in the car sometime around easter.
Will keep you guys updated

AWESOME! PLEASE let me know, I'm still looking for an aftermarket option. I really don't want to swap the skins on MY seats cause the driver's bolster is so bad the foam is all torn up and you can feel the metal bar. Best case senario I'd have to replace the seat and STILL spend ~$600 for skins. Thanks!

Oh, please take some pics once you get them in, and let us know what you use for seat rails. Thanks!

I can testfit all Recaro seats if you want. I'm a recaro dealer over here and have a RX7 standing totally gutted to easy to place them in there.

The Sportster CS fit but its really tight and some mods have to be done.

I for myself will be fitting Pole Postions they are buckets but really comfortable.

That would be great too. The main reason I'm looking for an aftermarket seat is so I can sit lower so my head won't touch the roof. How tall are you? I want a reclining seat because I will be taking long trips in the car and I want to be able to get into the bins behind the seats without a lot of hassle. If the Speed seats fit, and if you can get a pic of them in the car to show how tight the fit is, I might be interested in those.

I wont be able to supply you as I'm in germany But I think there are quite some Recaro dealers over there too. I'm gonna lay it in there tomorrow and take a pic for you of the Speeds.

The Pole Positions are ok for long trips too trust me its more of a street then a race seat and its the most comfortable seat at least for me of the lineup beside the ergo series but those arent really sporty.

I'm 180cm high and weight 75kg.

those chrono look like bottom mount, you are not going to gain any head room with those. Speeds are bottom mount too. Unless you are really short you should only be looking at side mount seats.

testfit these!

Dexter 2411 can you test fit the Recaro ASM seats and tell me which fit in the FD better the RS-G or TS-G? I'm jonesing for those seats but want to make sure there is no rubbing anywhere. I guess the basic difference between the two is the recline angle. Do you have a preference?

Cheers,

Frank

I vote the R98. Once you sit in a fiberglass shell seat you would never go back to a steel tube frame. Plus the R98 has more thigh support.

^Yeah but does it fit with the side bolsters? That's why I'm asking. I don't know if you know this, but not alot of seats fit in the FD for precisely that reason.

The shouder bosters are not very wide so they should fit without hitting the door or B pillar.
