LOL door locks anyone else?

I got a RHD S5 1990...
I got 4 keys, I got 2 hatches 4 doors...

Out of 4 keys and 6 options = 24 only 1 of 24 works,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAZDA-RX-7-RX7-Series-1-2-3-79-89-SAVANNA-Door-Locks-L-R-/271180680513?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ARX-7&hash=item3f23a0cd41&vxp=mtr

Anyone know what, best bet is? I asume this will work all 2nd gen doors are the same besides power options, but the locking mechanism should be the same right?

I was trying to buy handles but mine are fine, but the locks ehhhhhhhhhhhh.

Toss me some love, I'm sad. Just want to lock my door and not need to punch it out.

No one?

I'll purchase and put up a review, it's the correct setup for a fb/fc lock, I asume it will have fitment issues but, Will put up something once installed with pics...

I've removed it before Ill try it again, without using a hammer. WOOOOOOOOT!

With so many different keys and locks, wouldn't it make more sense to take them to a locksmith to be re-keyed? I took my storage bin locks to Slaters Hardware in Lancaster, OH and it was ~$15 each to get them re-keyed to use my FC's original numbered key. Took them about 20 minutes on each one to take apart, rework the tumblers and reassemble.

I doublechecked and found that all FC lock parts use a FB0x prefix with exception to the ignition lock (F044 prefix for JDM S4 and F061 prefix for JDM S5). S3 lock parts use either F041 or FAxx prefixes in the same manner.

81-83 is kind of odd in that it uses the BE32 and GA02 prefixes for 83 and 81/82 respectively. As for 79/80, the prefixes are 8871 (Hatch & ignition), 8545 (glove box), 8531 (door locks) and 0866/8218 (fuel filler lock).

All of the above part numbers include both the lock and key, due to the locks not having individual part numbers. It would stand to reason that the internals might be similar between 79-85 and 86-91 unless Mazda changed something drastically as they did with the FD (Key is longer). However, I would be wary of unsubstantiated compatibility claims by the seller unless independently verified by a reputable locksmith. You may wish to refer to Mazdatrix's Key page for more information:

Hah, you pretty well hit the mark on that post.
I had same feelings, mainly towards the compatablity claims.

... I just need it to lock manually could care less about power locks.

Only thing, I can offer to you is the Canadian side, your 15 doller re-keyed has become 50 dollers Canadian.

Should have mensioned mine where probably past repair; It would require more then a pin or two, would tally up pretty fast. Keying them would be my first choice, but then i found out how much.

If this happens to work out with the keys provided; and all functions, this surely would be a good option, minus the "NEW KEY".

Thanks for your input, was dead on with the original post, too bad I should have mensioned the garbage end of it.

Reivew: Item isn't as described they will not be bolt fit or compatable without modifcation as of a shaved door poppers.

The door handle was drilled out filled with bondo and 3m tape to hold the lock in place.

They will work for length but proper use and installation is no where near acceptable.
*I wouldn't recommened this product, as it's got nothing to do with the 2nd gen rx7's.

Dealer has re-funded me 100%, and has looked into revising their product description.

Looks to be no cheap solution, unless your local lock smith has good rates.
CANADA = 50-100$... I guess if you run into this situation you should just install and make good theft proof peice, or, make your car soo ugly no one wants it. My choice, MUAHAH
