don’t buy anything until you know the mounting width of the seat is narrow enough for the rails. Typically it has to be under 400 mm.

FWIW, Bridge and Kawai rails want the seat to be 395 mm, but it might still fit...

So I know the Sparco Evo QRT fits in the car but does anyone have any suggestions for what rails to get? I'm 6'1 with longer legs. I do plan on bringing the steering wheel closer to me, but looking to see what you guys suggest on getting for rails.

Just an FYI for anyone wondering, I just tried R100s using Sparco mounts and sliders and they are NOWHERE NEAR close to fitting. Like you are not even in the same universe. Way higher seating position, top of the seat hits the roof if you try and fold them forward, plastics for the fold downs hit the interior quarter plastics, they touch the door panels, etc. Regardless of whatever mount you use, these definitely do not fit!

PSA: don’t buy the Kawai Works super low seat rails if you are taller than about 5’9” or 5’10”, it’s designed for short bastards and doesn’t go far back enough.

I’m looking at this seat from bridgemoto, I attached a picture of the specs. Seem to be pretty close to brides Edirb but I’m having trouble finding rails that will fit and make sure I can use my factory door panels without modifying the seat, and will drop the seat an inch or two

Bridgemoto XL bucket seat with Ronin rails fits perfect. I’m 6ft 230lbs modified the rails so seat sits as far back as possible. Can get in and out of the car easily even without removing my steering wheel. Just ever so slightly touches the door panel but that may be me needing to readjust the rails. I feel like I’m sitting a little crooked.

How does head clearance feel vs stock?

Since GarageStar died, does everyone agree that Ronin Speedworks brackets are the lowest?

I'm considering trying to mount the Corbeau FX1 like a few people did back in the day.

Thanks for the response. Judging by your previous post I thought that might be the case.

Im also 6’ and 230. That Bridgemoto Tsukuba feels pretty good? Do you feel like you have the seat position you desire? Or do you feel like you want to be even further back than the door panel allows?

I know this has been asked to death but I cannot find a write up on Recaro Sportster CS seats. I know they can be "installed with the OE rail but its a tight fit" but the old writes up have either been archived or have been deleted due to age.

Really curious if anyone else has done this more recently and can provide insight.

Do the pole positions work? I like that they come in leather.

did you find any more recent updates on installing a set in fd? I couldn’t find any photos or anything just tight fit using oe rails.

Hello guys,

I've spent a part of my afternoon searching for a good bucket seat alternative, and first of all, thanks for this topic! Now, I would still appreciate to have your lights on this, and potential fixes or alternatives.

Currently, I run a set of Recaro SR3 Le Mans Confetti and they're really cute overall but, they hit the door panel and the inclination handle was removed as it's hitting the door. The seats are fixed with Bride Low max rail of type RO but maybe they're not the right solution and some other rails could prevent the the door panel problem that forces to kinda slam the door.

If I were to change seats, do you have other options in mind that could have the reclining feature? I will also track the car 4-6 time per year probably, so I still want something decent there. When I check what I can mount with the current rails, the Bride site says that:

BRIDE: GIAS series,STRADIA series,edirb 023 / 033 ,CUGA series,VORGA series,BRIX2,ERGO2,XAX2,PROS
RECARO: SR series,L series(*1)
Other: GULL,D&W

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Joy5,

I struggled finding Brides that fit for years. The top shoulder bolstering is what collide’s the most with the top of the inner door panel.

I found that Bride Pros is the only one that fits both me and the car. Im using that now (6 foot, 230lbs). They are a bit older and maybe hard to find outside of Japan.

Ive tried Zeta and Zieg, but they force you to sit a little too far forward for my liking.

Hello Chris,

Thanks for your answer, and I've spent another morning re-reading this thread and others on the forum.

I think I'm going to lower my expectations as anyway, this won't be a road trip & daily car anymore since it's quite a beast already and I have the 997 for the rest. Pole positions are real cute and would keep the RZ spirit but it would mean for me to invest in a new set of rails, which is a shame.

The seats you are using are nice, but I'm 5'7 so I can go for the Japanese seats I guess. With my rails, and what we said above, I think the Bride Stradia and Gias are a good fit and they would still be reclining:- https://www.rhdjapan.com/bride-strad...w-cushion.html

One last thing though, is there any way to make the Recaro SR3 Le Mans Confetti fit with other rails or modifications? They're actually very good seats so it would be a shame to sell them if there is a solution

Thanks
