small note regarding comments on the Tillett seats
While the Tillett seat does have a 30 deg back angle, the lower seat portion is also about the same. So adjusting the seat angle back to 20 deg through the mounting is going to be acceptable and still provide plenty of resistance against moving forward under braking.
the bigger issue for me is the ruleset requires the entire “seating surface” to be “fully upholstered”. Which the suede-pads they offer won’t qualify since they only provide partial coverage of the front side. I found perforated neoprene with either a nylon or polyester top surface and adhesive-backed bottom surface that is likely going to meet the requirement and still be lightweight. Hate to cover them up as such, but it can at least be removed later for a higher class level, etc.
they did also discontinue the lightest B1 auto seat (3 kg) about a year or so ago

I started using my Tillet seat in my FD and the seat angle is a complete non-issue when I am belted up.
It provides plenty of lateral hold as well. Much better than my oversized Sparco.
Often the things that bother you about driving position, pedal arrangements (for heel toe), brake firmness, and so on are only an issue when you're sitting there with car off...
I'm 6'3" and about 40" waist, I modified some Kirkey Road Race seats and put them on the stock rails so they still slide. They're not exactly what I wanted but they work pretty well. I cut away a lot of shoulder bolster for obvious reasons, and I cut the side bolsters out because I kept getting the inside bolster right into my spine when I got in and ingress and egress was so much more difficult. Due to that, the seat got a lot more flimsy, so I added braces to each side to stiffen it back up and I think it's stiffer now than it was in the beginning. I also cut the butt out of it and fiberglassed a drop in it so it sits on the floor like the stock seat and I added more foam, so it's comfy for longer drives. I thought I was saving money by doing it this way but I probably spent more than what I would have just buying a couple nice Recaros, but I also wouldn't have known whether they'd sit low enough for me and these are custom to me and the car.
Plus I installed a cupholder on the front edge lol.

Strictly speaking, Kirkeys aren’t supposed to be mounted with sliding rails. They’re designed to installed with a back brace. Of course, I’m sure it’ll be fine… if you don’t crash.
I am tall (6'1) and have a wide waist (38), are there any other guys around my size that have found a track seat that fits?
If you live anywhere near a showroom, I highly recommend going and actually sitting in a number of seats, and then seeing if they will fit.
Any of the upright XL Tillet seats will easily fit, if you’re OK with the seat that isn’t entirely upholstered. Of course, you could always get it covered in alcantara.

Haha, yeah I think I read that somewhere before I installed them. I was going to install a back brace, partially so it would help restrict side to side movement too once the seats got flimsy, but I realized they wouldn't help much in that regard and lining it up with the harness bar is somewhat difficult. I might still do that someday though. I had planned on installing one that has adjustments so it can still slide, but it would be a huge PITA just to slide the seat.

After talking with the owner Alan he recommends his Sendai model or for with people above a 38 waist his Suzuka model. He is also a Rotary owner and tracks his FD and FC. After purchasing his coilovers for my FD my plan is to use his seats as well.

Any standard upholstered composite shell racing seat wide enough for someone with a 38 inch waist is NOT going to fit on a super low “drop between” rail. So while the seat may fit in the car (those shoulders look a little wide, though), you won’t gain maximal headroom. But it will probably be at least as low as stock.
Unless you don’t care about having sliders. If fixed is OK, you can mount it straight to the floor.
That said, a racing seat with the wrong brackets and rails can end up higher than stock!

my plan was the Sendai model since the shoulders are narrower was going to mix it with either the feed slide rails since they look to be a fairly shallow slide system compaired to bride or I’ll go fixed and go with street faction mounts. Honestly not to concerned with if my seat moves or not. Once it’s in place I never mess with it.
