Keyless Entry?

For anyone who has upgraded their R1 system to keyless entry, what did you do?

Which did you purchase and which works nicely?

I know for auto, its pretty easy, just purchase a kit and install it. However, for stick, you need to remember to always turn it off in N and have the e-brake on... or you can put something on which won't turn it on...

I have a touring model, but I don't know why there would be any difference. But anyway, I got the LYNX 200 system from www.asianwolf.com It's an alarm/keyless entry/remote starter. I just had my installer put in the alarm and keyless entry portion, and leave the remote starter out. He had to install an actuator in the driver side door, because there isn't one in there. It seemed like a very routine job for him though, only took like 3 hours to do.

I had an alpine alarm installed and the installer could not disconect the factory alarm. Everytime you arm it works fine, but when you disarm it, it sets the factory alarm off because you didn't unlock it with a key. Anyone knokw how to disarm the factory alarm so I don't have to use my key?

most alarm have a wire to disarm the vehicle's alarm. the factory alarm disarm wire is located on the lock. you can trace it all the way to the driver's side kick panel. this is where you would splice it in. if your alarm does not have a disarm wire, you would have to bypass the vehicle door lock wire. it should be a small green wire

Thans for the info. I will call my installer and have him take a look. He called Mazda and they told him the car would not drive if the alarm was disconected.

Well I just want a keyless entry installed so I don't have to keep opening with the key. (gets very annoying after a while)

Oh well, its going to have to wait as I need to save some money for a RAD first.

I have a cliford alarm system that came with keyless entry and all that stuff. I duno for sure on keyless entreis alone who the best would be to go with. But alarm wise with that I would say cliford for a good system. And make sure who ever ya take it to does a good wiring job and all that kinda stuff on it too.
