Installing new deck in non-bose FD
I did some searching and couldn't find anything helpful.
does anyone know a link to a good how-to site? I need to remove the factory deck, and I am unsure how to do it. do I need to remove the trim peice around it (the one that has the climate controls and such)? or can I just pull the deck out. if I need to remove this piece, then I must remove alot fo stuff it seems including the gauge hood. I really need some help on this.

There's a little plastic cover on both sides of the radio...pry them off to expose two holes on each side.
Then use a radio removal tool (2 U-shaped wires)...I just cut up a wire hanger and bent it into shape. Take one of the wires and insert the ends into the two holes on one side of the radio. Do the same for the other side.
Now push them outwards away from each other to release the catches inside, and then pull the radio out using the wire tools. It's hard to explain without pics, but you'll prolly understand when you take off the plastic covers.
You can do the same to remove the CD player.
good luck, and do a search on google for radio removal pages....there's a lot out there.
