So whats the deal? Is your father buying you the cwest kit for a present or something? Is he paying for installation and paint? This is an interesting ordeal... I can understand being on a budget, I'm 19 with an FD.. however I dont understand why you're getting a body kit unless its not you who's buying it. Save the money until you can do it all in one complete package if you're buying.

If your dad's buying it, then you'll have a nice looking body kit, you wouldnt want to spoil the look with some cheap rims, or get rims that wont function well (fragile imitations). If thats the case, just save up until you can afford good rims and bear with the stockers in the meantime. If you are really dissatisfied just spray paint them or something.

well you see i have very minor damge to the front and rear that can be fixed easily cuz my dad does body work and painting, but instead he just said to get a body kit and he will just paint that and the rest of the car whatever color i want since itll be free for me, and then i talked to him about the rims but he said i have to get those on my own.

i personally would have your father fix the stock bumpers for the time being. save your money for wheels and if you still want the cwest kit have him buy it then. i think after you hang around here for a year or two you will realize that the cwest kit isnt the best looking option for these cars. i got the cwest and was happy with it at first until i realized i had a sleek sports car with a giant rectangle in the front bumper.

i know how you feel about wanting to mod the car though. when i was 17 with my fd i never though i'd be able to drop 3k on volks like the other forum members. instead i bought some cheap 18s that i could barely could give away.

Had my Fd when I was 16, I spent all my extra money on reliability mods and maintaince. The best thing you can do is learn from this fourm. I sprayed the stockers with some wheel paint from Autozone. I also suggest you look around for some used wheels on craigslist or even this fourm, you might get luckey. Get the tires for free from tires shops, they usally throw them in the back storage, yes very ghetto but thats what you do when you dont have funds. If your putting a body kit and the stock wheels arnt flush with the body, try using wheel spacers.
Good Luck!

It said it was in a collision. From what it looks like the guy got rear ended and then rolled forward and i guess hit the person in front or something.

Have you tired ebay? I've found some very nice deals on rims on ebay. You'll do even better if you don't mind buying a used set in good shape.

Tirerack.com is also a little cheaper than most places.

If you're really motivated, ask the local performance/stereo stores what they are clearing out.

I've never had the urge to swap rims (except for the phone dials on my 87), but I apparently hit a lot of pot holes.

I'm 17 and I make 7.20 an hour, I work 30+ hours a week. I'd like an fd, but I don't want something like that now for a daily driver. Once I finish school (senior now), I plan on getting one when I go off to college. Til then, my t2 suits me fine.

mehh..im almost 16. i dont plan on getting a car for myself until im 18. im willing to wait it out so i can get more knowledge and skills (driving skills) so when i get a FD ill be ready. sure i can get a FD at 17 (i have to pay at least 1/3 of the price though) but why bother when you dont know crap and have no experience in driving. but until then ill be driving the good ol' RWD gen1 MPV. hahah
your one lucky kid.
