How do you replace the sereo in an FD

I just got a new head unit for my 94 and was wondering if any one can send me step by step instructions on pulling out the old unit.

Thanks

You need to buy or borrow a set on Blaupunkt keys from the local stereo shop, and get a wiring harness.

Then follow the instructions that came with the radio.

Hope you don't have the Bose system and a aftermarket high powered deck without pre-amp outputs.

Clarification

I know how to wire the stereo, I just have not been able to figure out how to get the old one out. What interior pieces do I need to remove and how do they come off?

Again: get the adapter harness from your local stereo shop, the harness will let you plug the aftermarket radio into the cars harness.

The colors between the aftermarket radio and the adapter harness will match... then its plug and play, again as long as you don't have the bose system

I'm new to all this, but what happens if you have the Bose system? And what do I need to do to fix it?

hi 1984gslse

i just did this on my 95....i'm assuming you have the base stereo?
I'm not sure if the Bose model is different but it's prolly the same removal process.

On each side of the radio and CD player there is a thin plastic strip. You can pull these off....use a small screwdriver to pry them off.

actually......i just found a useful link:

hope it helps!!

Thank you all

I used the tool and it worked great. No interior pieces to remove.

Thanks
