It's likely it has simply worn out(the drivers side at least). If leather conditioner does nothing, you may want to have the areas in question recovered at an upholstery shop. You'd be surprised how good they look with fresh leather.

Depends on the leather and the shop. My father just had the seats in his Vette done at a local shop. The repair on the seats was about $200 each seat (to repair the bolster and a few other areas, not a complete recover).

The leather matches perfect and you would never know they have been repaired.

http://www.leatherique.com/services.htm

http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/leatherdye.html

first link is what appears to be a quality refurbishing product...

second link is from a guy trying and apparently accomplishing quality refurbishing of a ferrari interior...i know maybe ferrari/connoly leather may react differently to the products as opposed to shitty mazda leather...but if its good enough for a ferrari?...im gonna say its probly good for mazdas leather?

just some links i found and am planning on using in the future. like i said if its good for a ferrari...its gotta be good for my shitty leather!!

hope this helps.
