Here is the older Blitz gauge that is pretty much the most stock looking boost gauge for the FD. I don't beleive they sell this anymore but not sure. I have had it for a year or so now with no problems...Had the Autometer b4 and it sucked @ss.

so if i understand you correctly...the safe range for our cars is to be boosting around 1-1.2 kg/cm2?
Sorry i'm a bit tired and trying to figure out what your post means.

.9 is the safest. BUT your car will probably boost 1.2 if you have a filter and a pipe. Mine did. 1.0 is good too, but if you get a boost computer evc whatever you want to call it I recommend a air/fuel computer or exhaust temp gauge

I usually run 1.0, which is just about 15psi. I recently turned it up to 1.2 which is closer to 17psi, but if are running stock motor/turbos and care about them 1.0 is about as high as you would want to go.

awesome! actually...i think mine is underboosting. (around .8) occasional spike at 1.0. This sets my mind at ease for the time being. I was thinking about getting a reprogrammed ecu but now that I know i'm safe...COILOVERS HERE I COME! =D

yeah that was wrong, i noticed last night that i'm at around .75 occasionally spiking. All i have is an intake and exhuast. Should i get an ECU? or is there something else that is wrong that i need to fix?

Well stock boost levels are 10-8-10 (.69-.56-.69 bar). If you are holding at .75 that is almost 11 lbs. so that is not too bad. If you are spiking a lot higher than that than you might want to consider controlling it somehow. If you are going to do much more mods than yeah, an ECU should be a purchase in your near future. You might be able to handle one more flow mod but that is it. After that your flow will be greatly enhanced and the ECU will not be able to compensate enough fuel for the increased air and that is even at stock boost levels. Higher than stock boost levels is even worse. So it all depends on what you want to do and what mods route you are going to take.

No. I'm having the fuel filter and plugs replaced and flushing the coolant system tomorrow, i'll have them check the compression. What is a normal compression reading?

I think that's it for flow mods for the time being, i'd like to work on handling and braking next. But i think it may be worth my while to get an ECU next. I'd rather ere on the side of caution.
