Hood pins only

I just bought a CF hood and put it on and it sits kinda high because the hood latch is too long. I want to remove the stock locking mechanism so the hood will fit flush. Do you think ill be ok with hood pins only? Anyone ever done this?

I was in the same situation you were but mine is an FRP hood with reverse vents. You'll be ok just running hood pins and removing the latch that is mounted behind the bumper. For extra psychological comfort I mounted the hood pins in the front middle where there is more aerodynamic angle (high pressure) rather than behind the headlights.

yeah i have the actual latch all the way down. the latch just engages and locks way to high.

wow oun that FD is soooooooooooo hawt! With that being said i think ill just run pins then. Save a few ounces of weight too i guess lol.

So if you have no issues ill do the same then. thanks for the FAST replies guys!
