Help with speaker selection
I have an 89 GTU, no dash speakers but I was thinking of going with these two speakers

Don't know how the bass would be without a good sub though, so I'm thinking I'll get these off of Ebay (fairly cheap for NIB) and install them myself, then maybe buy a powered sub

If the bass isn't satisfactory.
I think I'm going to have an audio place install my head unit though, seems like most people are having problems w/ the grounding wire in the back?

On second thought, I think I'll try
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-13C
in the front and
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-17S
in the back.
Do any of you know how the crossover thing for the component 2-way (second set)
works?
Could I put the 6.5" speakers in the back spots of my FC, and both the 5.25" and tweeters from the 6.5" set in the doors or would I have to keep the tweeters and 6.5" speakers close together w/ the crossover connecting them?
Advice please, I'm an audio noob =[

Nevermind, I looked into it more and that won't do at all.
rear: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-17C
Front(Doors): http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-13S
And that's my final answer!
Seems like I'm kind of ranting to myself in here anyways

It will be hard to get good bass response from the rear strut towers unless you go through a couple of more steps. I chose to make speaker mounting brackets out of one inch thick wood used to make furniture and sound dampened the towers. Also, in my case I beefed up the bass in my system with a powered subwoofer by JVC for $150 from Crutchfield but it can be had cheaper elsewhere. I mounted the sub behind the passenger seat up against the small 1 foot wall and it made my system sound like a home stereo, kid you not.

Racerboy, they're like a hundred dollars cheaper on ebay.
&Satch, I know what you mean, I had a powered sub in my last car and I was already looking into one of the book-like ones to mount behind the driver's seat in my car
