front FD speaker size?

I have a bose system and I want to switch to aftermarket speakers. I know it will ahve to be fablricated in there so I'll probably take it to an audio shop and have them do it, but what size speakers will they be able to fit in the front and back? Whats the biggest I can get? The deepest?

Thanks for any help.

check your car specs out on

http://www.crutchfield.com/ or http://www.etronics.com/

pay close attention to the mounting depth..anything over 2.5 inch will not fit in the frount.

I just swapped out my stock speakers on a non-Bose system. If you have any questions pm me

its gonna be tight...2.5 in depth for my speakers meant I had to hack the stock plastic speaker baffle, and the window BARELY clears it.

Non-Bose cars have 6.5" speakers (shallow ones). Bose are said to have smaller ones (4"?) but I haven't pulled any of those, so I'm not 100% sure. Search Scuderia Ciriani (http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/) or something for more detailed info. Bose speakers are also very low impedence, so replacing them with normal speakers may result in them playing very softly versus the other speakers in the car. Damn the Bosers!
