Found a similar shift **** to spirit-r

I have ALWAYS liked how the spirit-r shift **** looked, but their is not a chance in hell I am spending $200+ on one, no way. So in the search to find a similar ****, I found that the STI **** is almost exactly the same. Their is no subaru or Sti logo on it. The only thing we would need to check to see is if the thread pitch is the same for MT guys, I will be able to put this on my AT either way so no big deal their. Heres the best part, they go for $20-50 on the sti forums. You can get them brand new for 62+s/h, http://www.avojdm.com/product_info.p...9b7853b1f7786e

Edit: Did a little more research and THIS WILL FIT, both thread pitches are 12x1.25

STI = 6 speed, so the imprinted pattern will be wrong.

Well the title of the link says "STI 5-speed Shift ****"... And the pictures show the 5/R shift pattern...

Sorry, I can tell it doesn't since its 5spd. When you get yours, tell me if it has the ring that holds the boot up that is meant for WRXs.

From the pictures I've seen, I didn't see any ring on the bottom. I hope to have it this week so I should have pictures of it installed this weekend.

I paid $85 shipped, probably too much. But, it's brand new.

Just got the ****, it DOES have a white plastic ring on the bottom of the ****. I don't see how this will be a problem though.

The **** comes with a plastic boot retainer, you'll most likely want to cut that off. I cut mine off with a hacksaw, took about 30 seconds. But cutting it off, you'll be able to lower the **** about .75 inches more.

I might tommorow, way too hot to mess around today.

I have a new shift boot, ebrake boot and console cover on order so I'll take the nice pictures then.

Wow, that shift **** looks way too high. Stock shifter underneath the STi ****? Looks good otherwise. I'm running a Spirit R **** and am happy with it..... but this is a good alternative, and I kinda dig the stich pattern.
