fire in fd interior!

While driving, Bose stereo started making a staticy, hissing noise. Then noticed my right door speaker was smoking!!! It will play w/ speaker removed, but there is a constant hissing noice, I think from center speaker. Want to keep factory radio, got a spare head unit, but same noise happens w/it installed. Someone please help!?

Every bose speaker has a it's own amp. Did you try disconecting the center speaker?

I think you're gonna have to bite the bullet and start disconnecting components until you can isolate the prob. From what it sounds your center channel amp got hosed.

The stock stereo sux bad . Hose it and upgrade before you burn your whole car down to the pavement.

I am considering hosing it, but would much rather keep the stock units, personal reasons. Could it be a bad ground somewhere? Anyone have a good right amp?
