help ive got issues with my rx-7

what up, can anyone help me here, i picked up a 1985 Rx-7, but theres one issue, the hood wont open, does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong. i believe its stuck. it has been sitting around for a few years. if anyone could help id appreciate it.

When you pull the hood release in the cabin, make sure there is some resistance. If there isn't, the cable probably got disconnected. If it's not that, the car might've been in an accident and the pin and latch under the hood might be slightly misaligned, get a buddy and have him/her pressing in on the hood where the latch would be while you keep pulling on the release. It should pop up. This is what I have to do with my old honda. Hope it works out for you.

remember it opens from the back on that car, not the front.

Can't you just jack it up and reach the latch from the underside? I might be overestimating how much room there is in the engine bay in a 1st gen, but i seem to remember there almost being enough room to stand in it....

...you bought it without looking under the hood? How much did you pay?

Oh sorry that comment alone wasnt a very good answer to your question. Yeah I would make sure the cable is actually doing its job you might have to dismember it and pull directly on the cable with some plyers, ive had to do that before...

yeah i got it for free, my neighbor didnt want it anymore...i think thats what im gonna end up doing
