Just started my single-turbo install. I'll post progress pics of that very soon along with my stereo setup.

BTW- This is my new account. Decided to stop using my bro's and just make one for myself.

Forgot to mention:

I decided to change the looks up a bit, and so I'm going with a new front bumper, new hood, and creating the option to swap hatches when needed.

Single-turbo install should be completed within 2-3 weeks.

Wheels should arrive at my door sometime early Sept. is what I was told. I've waited TOOOOOOOOOO damn long for these wheels (It's been over a year now) and they're ALMOST complete so I can't wait . I'm very very excited.

Anyways, as I said earlier I'll post pics soon.

Hey Riz, re: the swapping hatches, you mean you're fastening it via hood pins?

^That's not what I had planned. Is that necessary?

I'm actually purchasing a CF hatch, which I'll keep wingless and at the same time retain the hatch I have now with the 99 spec wing and swap them out as I see fit. I'll be purchasing a seperate stock glass (hopefully from you ) and put that on the CF Hatch. That's what I meant by "swapping" hatches.

Ahh ok Riz. My bad. I was thinking when you said swapping, you were referring to making them easily swappable. Easiest way is to lose the struts and just fasten them w/ hood pins But no, of course that's not necessary.

Now I will most definitely be securing my CF hatch via hood pins, for safety reasons. And I got ya on the glass...

Thanks man, I knew you'd come through . Anyways, any reason why you think you need hood pins for the CF hatch? I REALLY REALLY don't want to put them on for the hatch, but I'm definitely wondering why you're looking to go that route? Let me know.

BTW- I'll be posting some more "project pics" later tonight. I FINALLY got my turbo kit .

Firs off my sound system setup. I had this put in for the time being because I LOVE pounding/music and I'll make a much nicer, custom setup in a few months once I get all the bigger stuff out of the way .

A couple pics of the car being worked on. I'm getting close to finishing and I'll keep posting pics as the work progresses.

A little late, yes. But I do nonetheless

I don't trust any stock latches holding up a non-reinforced hood/hatch. Plus, I'm going to be installing a GT wing in the hatch, and if left unsupported (ie fastened ONLY to the hatch) it can get ripped off at high speeds. So I'm thinking of using a quick release pin to fasten the wing to the trunk floor (or part of the roll cage), and having that pin double as a fastner for the hatch. Make sense?

In general, most CF hatches are secured on all four corners. Note all 4 pins in this pic:

VERY NICE!

looks really good. i love the 99 Spec front with the Burnout Fenders. its gonna look insane on the Kinesis rims. forgive me for not reading up on this, but is that a tracked car? if so, is the trunk audio set up easily removable? what Kinesis rims did you get by the way and what finish? It really doesnt matter, cause i would take any one of them if i had an extra appendage i didnt need to purchase them keep up the good work! i love the color as well. ive never seen a black paint job look that good. ive been tinkering over the idea of painting my car factory brilliant black, honda's berlina black or stealth black, but i do enjoi this color. again, the care looks phenominal.

WRXSS- i was wondering what kind of car that was in the foreground. it was bothering me that i couldnt figure it out. not to get off topic, but i am a subaru lover and i would like to see more shots if you could post or pm them to me. (is it the silver wrx in the later pix?)

Looks good Riz. You mentioned earlier that you were planning on swapping to a different bumper. Is this because you are unhappy with the way the burnout fenders flowed with the OEM lines? Also, did you have your body guys shave the fender flare lips or keep them as-is? I'm curious to see what your final wheel fitment is like and I think you should post some more interior pics ;o). Keep up the good wrenching.

Thanks. I won't be keeping it 99 spec for too long though. I've decided to go with a different front end for several reasons: 99 spec has become TOOOOOO popular, TOOOO many knockoffs, and finally I want something a little different. As for the rims I can't wait either . I should be getting them within 1-2 weeks. I'm SUPER excited!

The car is not specifically a track car, but I do plan on tracking it. The audio setup is not easily removable, but it is removable with a little work. Honestly, I'm not super concerned with weight. I do things to lower it (CF hatch, hood, etc.), but I also have other things that significantly add to it (19" rims that will be fairly heavy plus the audio and a few other things). In the end I'm happy being around the 3000 lbs number, especially considering its a touring model as well.

Regarding the paint, I absolutely LOVE it! It changes in different lighting and I've had people already tell/ask me that it looks like 5 different colors. If you plan on painting the car the one suggestion I would give is go with something different. Something you don't see everyday will look great. I love black cars, but I wanted something different, in the end I'm very happy with my choice.

Finally, that's my buddies WRX. He's not on this forum very often so I'll post a picture I have of his car. If you'd like more just let me know. Thanks.

Thanks Rob! I am planning on swapping to a different bumper very soon, but its not because I don't like the look of the 99 w/burnout fenders. It's really because I feel the 99 spec is getting VERY common and theres just tooooo many knockoffs available nowadays. I have nothing against replicas, but when they start selling them for dirt cheap w/out proper fitment and people are buying them up as fast as possible, I'd rather go with something a little different. Thats just my opinion though. I still LOVE the 99 spec, but it's no longer for me.

Regarding the fender lip, my bodyshop hasn't altered them yet. The reason I have my car lifted as high as it is, is because I'm going to test fit the rims once I get them, take the car with the rims on to the bodyshop and have them cut them accordingly. I'll have more information in regards to wheel fitment/fender cutting in about a few weeks.

Finally, I haven't been posting interior pics yet because I still have a few things I'd like to get done before doing so. My interior is fairly stock, with all the panels painted, a couple gauges, couple electronics and thats about it for now.

Wow, those look very interesting. I'd like to see them on a car though, but they definitely appear to be a better/more subtle option to the latched hood pins.
