Talking FINALLY Back from the Bodyshop: A Few Project Pics

Hey,

I just got my car back from the bodyshop this thursday after a good 2 month wait. I'm always seeing picture threads so I figured I should contribute as well. I'm not going to say too much about it, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

- Wheels are being custom made and will probably be at my door sometime mid-August.

- Single turbo kit is being completed and I should hopefully have it installed sometime in July.

- I'll also be installing CF Bride Seats once I can get a total from a VERY busy forum member .

Enjoy!

Note: My original thread posted in the 3rd gen section seems to have dissappeared so I'll post here.

Damn we took some good pics of your car. The pictures don't do the paint justice, I can't wait til the car is completed.

P.S. - My CF hood came out nice in the last pic

Garoad - Thanks. I actually finished installing a set of sleek headlight lenses. They look great.

I might be looking to sell this specific hood in awhile IF I come across 2 other hoods I'm interested in. Keep in mind the hoods I'm looking at as replacements are very very very rare so I don't know if/when that might be. If you let me know you're interested though, I can always keep you in mind for the future.

The Burout kit looks wider because it's slammed to the ground.

What paint is that? Looks like a metallic black of some sort. Coincidentally my choice as well.

I guess it looks wider for a few reasons:

1- I actually had the rear fenders completely molded rather than having it similar to the burnout FD, which seem to be more of a staggered fender.

2- I don't have wheels yet, which I'm currently waiting on. I think 19's with some 315s in the rear should definitely help with the wider stance.

3- Like luiml73 mentioned my car is dropped, but not slammed. I had 18s on it before and the drop was perfect, but sold them to purchase some new wheels. I also bought some coilovers so I can adjust it as I please.

The car is FAR from complete, but should be done within 2 months time.

Good eye! It is actually a metallic black, which tends to change with light patterns. I've gotten anything from grey, to anthracite, to black. The paint actually has green flakes in it and lots of pearl. Looks AMAZING in the sun. These pics really don't do it justice, but once I'm done with installing some more parts I will definitely take better pictures to highlight the paint job.

I actually did notice your in New Zealand, but as long as you would be willing to pay the shipping costs, I don't think I should have too much trouble shipping it. I'll also keep your profile saved in case I do sell it in the future.

^ Honestly, I do, but that's the one thing I'd rather keep to myself. I don't want too many other RX-7's running around with the same paint job. Sorry, I couldn't help .

Farhan, I'm thinking of getting just the rear flares in order to get a bigger rear tire/better offset for a large lip on the wheels I'm getting. Are the rears a fender or just a flare? Also, what do you think the estimate would be to get it molded on and painted? I'm sure you couldn't give me a quote from what your place did because they did more than just the rear flares, but an estimate with the flares would be what? 750-1000 total?

The rears are just a flare piece which gets bolted on top of the stock fender. Then I had the bodyshop mold it in. I think the prices you have in mind are reasonable, but be a little lower if you get a good deal.
