FD sub enclosure plans

Does anyone have any plans for a sub enclosure for and FD? I was interested in the damonb one, but I'm not sure he's making them anymore. I can make some myself, but if someone had any, it could same me some trouble

Thanks,
Jeff

Well how crazy do you want to get? I've got all sorts of plans ... Are we talking wood only or can I mix in some fiberglass?

The use of fiberglass can be just as strong as wood and I've used it and seen it used plenty of time. You can use it to mold a spare tire well or you can use it to make exotic coverings. The best fits for many cars utilize fiberglass. I've had several people PM about my ideas. There are two basic ideas for creating car stereo systems. You can tell an installer/sales guy I have $XXXX and I want it really trick, loud, and clean or you can say I have this equipment and I want your ideas on the best install. My point is this-I have ideas, but I need to know which direction to go.

Yeah, I think I'm interested in building something like what damonb used to make, basically a box that mounts between the cabin and trunk. I want to set it up so it uses some quick disconnects so I can pull it out with the amp and sub in one unit when I go to the track. My preference is not to put in directly in the floor of the trunk so its not obtrusive. I also want to mount the sub facing the cabin so things in the trunk don't hit it and so the amp is in the trunk so I can just pull the trunk/cabin seperator and just see the sub.

Are these resonable goals? They seam pretty simple, but I've never done this kind of work before. I do want to build it myself though.

Well, I'd really expect that sub to be limited by the divider and it will certainly rattle the divider. You can have a good grill made for it if you are worried about protection. If you like Damon's sub box, then buy one and make a nice cover to go over it for protection.
