I'm sure there are holes in your fire wall, but I was too lazy and stopped looking. I wired mine from the car battery, straight up through the quarter-panel and in throgh the door hinge. Its kinda cheeze and quick, but it works. When I open my door I can see the power wire, but its all good. Can't see anything from the outside! Oh yah! I've got a gen. 2 (if that makes a diff)

Much sure and fuse that pretty close to the battery. If you need a remote wire i would slice into the wire that goes to your rear window defroster and run your wire from there to your amp. Saves mounting a new switch plus shuts off when you turn the key off. The only drawback is that you have to leave you defroster on

I used a spade(female) terminal with that has a male tip on it so your defroster would still work

If you had the bose setup, is using the power that ran to those amps a good choice? Seems like I see all these huge wires (4-10gauge at most) for power to amps, but that wire is like 14 gauge? I'm only running about 160watts total out of the amp.

Thanks,
Jeff

Use 10 gauge wire for 160 watts .. 12 is just too small.

Another consideration is to run the cable from the starter and do the reverse of the battery relocation kits. Get a ring terminal and hook it to the starter and run the wire in the tray that protects the fuel lines and then drill a hole and install a gromet in the area of the bins so you can run the cable into the cabin. Most car audio shops have or can get a high quality screw in gromet that tightens down to make a water tight seal. A++
