What do you need the power cord for? If it's for the dvd, Why don't you use the existing power wire fromt he stock stereo?

^^ No idea , my friend is doing the install , he has a wire from the battery connected directly to the amp for the sub? He thinks we should drill a hole to feed the wire in? But I dunno.

Oh, from the post i didn't know you had an amp or anything. Drill a hole, put a grommet in the whole, run the wire through. Make sure you put a fuse 12-18" from the + battery terminal just incase something happens. Explosions are bad.

Where abouts should the hole be drilled? Any weak spots I should take advantage of?

Drill the firewall close to the steering column grommet so it's easy to bring to the door sill ont he driver side.

There are a number of spots to run wires through without having to drill metal, although perhaps the drilling isn't such a bad idea. Here's a few that don't require drilling the firewall:

- steering column at firewall -- slit rubber, feed wire through
- throttle cable thingy -- drill hole in plastic, feed wire through
- wiring harness -- remove fender liner, pop big seal out of hole, feed wire through hole, slit seal, replace -- be careful with the routing of the wires over the wheel, tire rubbing sometimes damages the stock wiring, so this could be a dangerous spot if you aren't careful

Your best bet would be the driver's side wheel well hole. As maxcooper said there is an existing grommet there, and entry from the engine bay into the wheel well from a decent-sized hole under the ignitor box. I have all of my gauge wiring as well as a 4 gauge battery feed wire running through there. Once I popped the fender liner out (just take out the clips) and looked I was amazed at how easy it was to get wiring from one point to another.

From the interior, if you take the driver footrest out (cpl of bolts) and take the 10mm retaining bolts out of the fusebox, it will be a lot easier to access the hole. You have to poke something through the carpet liner from the wheelwell side.

drill a hole, use a rubber gromet to protect the wire its easy. dont mess with the factory gromets they ussually cant hold anymore wire especially 4awg.

Bolgona. The large grommet in the driver side fender well is a couple inches wide and the fusebox/footrest protects anything you choose to run into the passenger compartment. It's the perfect place to run anything from the engine bay to the cabin and it doesn't require adding holes to the car.

I currently have an amp power cable, 1/4" rubber tubing for the boost gauge and wiring from my aftermarket temp sender all running through there and there's room for plenty more yet.
