Eclipse Subs?

Does anyone have any experience with eclipse 10" subs, they seem to have the best RMS for under $500 so i was wondering if that is because they are just shitty subs?

the titainium series is the best in its class.. but the others are kinda crap.. you can make or break a sub on the choosing the right amp though. I have a freind with eclipes' and they won state in "street" DB drags.. but thats here in nebraska though...

As patriot said its all in the setup. I knew someone who had $400 for subs speakers and amps. His car won best in his class and a db drag event. Although you do sometimes get what you paid for. I have 4k sitting in my stereo, which I am still hooking up. I have my two 12" diamonds hooked up for a moment and you can see my rear window flexing I would say get a bad *** 10 or 12 inch sub like, Adire BRAHMA, Re XXX or MT, Stroker, Diamond TDX mk2, Rlp, Avalanche etc....check out caraudio.com for great car audio forums...

I had two Eclipse 12" subs in a sealed box. I ran them with a Phoenix Gold 400TI amp in my 4Runner and believe me, they were loud! People would tell me that they would hear me here and there.

The Eclipse subs were aluminum in construction and they held up very well. If anyone here knows much about amplifiers, they can tell you how nice the Phoenix Gold amps are.

Then again, my friend ran two 10 inch soundstream subs (****) in a ported box in his Tacoma. They were powered by a two hundred watt Sony ES amp(****). This particular setup was even louder than mine. Being in the confines of the small cab of a truck could have really made the difference though.

I am not sure if I answered any questions but good luck to you anyway.

eclipse products are quality. it doesnt matter what product line u use and i can say this from experience. u will be very hard pressed to blow up an aluminum series sub. really the only way to blow it would be clipping ur amp cause in a sealed box the thermal and mechanical limits cannot be reached unless u are running over 1200 watts rms!!! i had a titanium 12 in a slot ported box gettin 1200 watts rms which is way over the reccomended 750 rms and it never ever complained and that was in a ported eclosure too. if u want em to sound good it really comes down to the enclosure. build it to eclipse spec and use 3/4 mdf and it will pound like none other and have damn good sq.

I forgot to mention that I have an Eclipse deck as well. The 7301 double din with the screen and video inputs.

I have an 8 year old model. 8101 I believe? I've pounded the crap outta those and they've been rock solid each and every time. They're in a .75 cube (per sub) sealed box and are pretty damn responsive. Not as deep as some, but that's because of the box, which was designed specifically for these.

I'd go with them again.
