eBay Replica Bride Seats, Go or No-Go ?

Well the title pretty much says it all. I want to give my interiora nice flashy look. Don't have enough money to buy legit Bride bucket seats, so i'm going the replica route and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, comments, reviews, anything helpful positive or negative about these. Thank you.

A quality replica is fine... a counterfeit is not.

OTOH, it's pretty hard to screw up something as simple as a fiberglass seat. But I wouldn't buy from anywhere that hasn't been in business for a while (although I did years ago and it was fine).

Bride seats are inappropriate for anyone with a waist bigger than 34" or wide hips. Or anyone over average Japanese height. They also tend to be seats with strong quirks.

They work fine, i know many people who have used them and have never had a problem even in accidents. The seats did their job to protect. Only tip would be to buy from a reputable dealer who sells the replicas, just do some research on forums to find the best rated dealer.

I had bride reps in my s14 back in the day and it was pretty comfortable and gave me no problems man. Just buy from a local place if buying new.

Bride is a Japanese company.

Yes, you should buy a brand-name seat if you can afford it. They are much, much stronger.

Don't buy a Bride at all if your waist is bigger than 34". You will not fit (except for the Zeta III XL seat).

I'm not into the Racing side of things yet,so The question that I am thinking is: would the REAL Bride seat be certified while the Fake one not pass?.

I bought my BRIDEs and BRIDE seat rails directly from BRIDE Japan. My waist is 34 and they are VERY snug, but comfortable. I bought the GIAS II recliners in Carbon Kevlar. Something to consider is that when weighing my seats with rails versus my R1 suede seats I was SHOCKED to discover that my stock R1 seats were actually 5 lbs LIGHTER each than the BRIDES!! FACT!

This is something else to consider. Original BRIDES are only safety certified for people 175 lbs and lighter. If over 175 lbs, BRIDE will not guarantee their safety. Just an FYI.

I still love mine, but if I had to do it over again I would have bought some Factory Recaros in Black or Red with tilt rails and pocketed the savings over what I spent for the original BRIDES.

Anything other than original is a counterfeit replica fake knockoff.. these are synonyms

Well, in most cases I wouldn't suggest it... fits is one thing, fits comfortable (2-3 hour drives) and fits with racing belts through the holes.

I physically fit in a Zeta 2 (38 inch waist at the moment...ideally about a 36 or smaller) but I wouldn't buy one because it's too tight.]

It also depends on how wide your hips are.

I trust a company that simply bases their molds off existing designs, but I do not trust a company that makes forgeries. In my mind those are two different things.

Brides are certified up to 220 pounds (100 kg) IIRC.

Those people won't fit in their seats anyway.

The Gias is designed to have the low height, strength, and hold of a full-bucket seat. Not to be super light. I think it's the rails that add the extra weight to it.

^Sorry, my mistake. Forgot that I have the Stradia IIs. Wanted a lower side bolster so I change my mind and went with those instead at the last minute.

Recaro is far better option.. especially if you can get your hands on a recaro Japan set, those are just beautiful but pricey.

Some of Recaro Japan's seats are smaller because they're designed for the Japanese. I would suggest you buy an American model.

The Pole Position is IIRC basically the same as the SPG, the classic Recaro bucket seat.

They also make an XL size that (probably) fits tall people with 38" and bigger waists easily, but the width means you're going to have go for custom rails.

Smaller where?

The SPG isn't a super big seat to begin with. The waist is fairly tight (not too tight though) but the shoulder holes are too low for me.

I got to sit in a TSG and RSG the other day. The TSGs back is too curved and lacks lumbar support but the RSG is awesome. It could stand to be a smidge wider for lap belts and its way too much money, but I want one.

I have a pair of tsg.. I dont see anything wrong with the support. I in fact like it as its not a 100% track car but a street car that sees the track often

Agreed on the price. They are very expensive for a pair of seats
