Ebay Body kits Good or Bad
I'm thinking about getting this body kit... Is it good or bad... Meaning how are the fitment for my FD... I just got into an accident, and my whole front and driver side are damaged, and was pushed in... This one shop was willing to fix and paint the whole car for me. So since its being painted, I decided to slap a set of body kit on...
Let me know what u guys think...!!!

I like this part:
"Body kits are sold as is!
All sales are final. Unless you email us about problems. We will see what we can do. No guarantees."
Is your insurance involved with this? If so, you have the cost of the new OEM body panels work with. Rotary Extreme's replica is $1450 (as compared to $500). How good do you think the ebay kit is going to be?
Trying to slap on a cheap-*** body kit just because you were in an accident isn't very smart, IMO.

I wouldnt buy replicas again. Getting your car painted is expensive. Get the right parts on there before you get it done because after you get it painted and you notice all the crappy stuff about your "cheap ebay" aftermarket pieces you will be in a bad spot. Not to mention the labor you will end up paying the body shop to make them fit and clean them up.
I made this mistake and I wont do the same thing next time.

Honestly most body kits, even some of the ones from japan don't bolt right up. I know someone with a border bumper that needs to "build it up" in some places for example. Don't get me wrong the ones from japan usually have less fitment problems and better quality, but no body kit that I've seen is "bolt it on, paint it, and done" I have a replica bumper right now. It took some massaging to get it to fit, and when I first set it on I thought it was waaaaaaaaaay off, but it's a damn good fit where it's at right now. I fit it myself so I didn't have to pay someone to fit it, but I will say that there are no huge gaps, and I didn't need to do any re-fiberglassing to it. Which you might have to with some of the more un-reputable ebay sellers bodykits.
For the most part though you do get what you pay for. Just be prepared for what you're getting if you buy a replica.

ALL BODY KITS ARE BAD
stay stock and dont look like a tool, not worry about clearing 2 inch curbs. Not swerving to miss a rock becuase it will ruin your mad bling bodykit. not worrying if ebay kits are good or not. not pissing your money away on ricer mods (see function over fashion) dont ruin the image of the FD with white colored bodykits on non matching colored cars. I can go on and on, im a bodyman as well, fiberglass sucks, urethane sucks, ABS is good, but they dont make bodykits in ABS. 99spec or R1 lip, lower it .75" and call it a day.

Well I have not done any scientific method testing of my aftermarket nose but logic dictates that since the opening is way bigger I am getting more airflow over my IC and radiator. There has to be some performance benefit there. Not to mention if someone were to get a real "performing" aftermarket spoiler - I would think since most race cars have a spoiler of some type there may be something to that.
Not that I am arguing the clearly brillant and undoubtedly correct above statements like "all body kits are bad" and "yea right.." .

Yes, a bigger opening allows more air. I'm referring to the ignorant people who think that a body kit improves the aerodynamics of the car. The only test data I've ever seen for a body kit was C-west, it wasn't very conclusive and they only tested at 90 mph. Hardly a valid test.
Mazda did hundreds of hours of wind tunnel testing to develop the stock body. They did more research to produce the 99+ front end. Mazdaspeed does aero research for their body pieces. Everyone else pretty much makes something that looks "good" (UGLY).
