Cwest FD bumper now available in 'urethane'!

Looks like the Cwest bumper is now available in 'urethane' - yeah! PFRP in Cwest speak.

http://www.c-west.co.jp/aero/aerotoppage.html

*edit* looks like not true Urethane (looks like they have a seperate Urethane line), but is much more flexible then fiberglass.

Here is a translation from that page:

"The material which has pliability in comparison with the former FRP make. The front bumper and the front half spoiler, than the former FRP make are more difficult to crack, repair possible even with contact when travelling. It is possible side step and the rear under fin to be superior in pliability, such as glueing at the time of the fitting to the body to install exactly. In regard to the paint, the coating film becomes difficult to crack even with contact when travelling depending upon painting with the soft paint. In addition also restoration is possible. "

Hmm, we've got INGs and Cwest with non-FG bumpers now - hopefully the FEED is next. I'll sell my '99 bumper for that.

I hope this is the start of a trend. I'd be a lot more likely to buy something *now* if I knew that it had near the flexibility of the OEM bumper.

If you are refering to this pic, in the intro page:

it's not likely an FD part. Cwest makes parts for alot of different cars - they don't specialize in RX7s.

If you look at the 'FD3S' link, under the PFRP section, it says - translated - N1 front bumper, which is this (that everyone is likely familiar with):

Not my very first choice, but there are others I'd rather not buy before the N1. The main point though, as artofwar suggests - is that this might be the start of a trend towards non-FG (flexible like urethane) bumpers.

INGS and C-WEST hate each other.

INGS is better and better people....

C-west came out with the bumper shortly after INGS at the AUTO SALON, it has been out what now then 4 months.

C-west is still played out....

I didn't quite understand what you posted, but INGS+1 is a division of CWest. Unless that is what you are talking about, them hating each other?

If the bumper is that flexible will it bend at a certain MPH like I see all these damn ricer kits. Most of them on normal highway speeds look like they are about to fly off the car, bending, turning, and shaking.

That's if they remove the underbumper reinforcement.
