XM Rocks!

I know that there have been similar threads regarding this topic, but I just got my XM radio installed today. It rocks! It is quite possibly the single greatest thing to happen to car audio since the CD player. I found myself driving my car just to listen to the radio! I removed the Bose junk and installed a non-Bose rear tray. I just have the antenna sitting on this, but I plan to permanently fix it to the tray in the future. The rear window (in my FD) is big enough that I haven't had any reception problems. I mounted the XM receiver in the bin behind the drivers seat with my amp and distribution block. I cut the actual plastic bin out and mounted all the stuff to the car body. You can't even tell that I have a stereo except for the head unit, tweeters, and XM antenna! Overall, I'm very happy with the way things turned out. I still have to tweak the levels, but it sounds so much better than the Bose stuff. And I don't even have subs yet. They're coming, though...

Would the antenna pick up through a tinted rear glass?

Yeah, as long as you don't have one of those metallic tints. My friend has the antenna on the rear tray of his 300M (with mixed results cause the window's not as big) with 20% tint and he has no problems from the tint. I didn't want to put the antenna on the outside of the car because I thought it would look ugly.
