Chrome RX7?
Chrome RX7?
The paint is available... i think the shape of the FD combined with the reflective mirror paint would look great.
Anybody know the costs? I was told 60,000. But this does not seem right, since it is just paint afterall.

well here is a link to the people who make it http://alsacorp.com/products/mirrach...a_prodinfo.htm
I started my chrome front end about 8 years ago first starting with stripping the paint off the aluminum hood in an effort to save weight.
I have done the front end with three different processes.
The front fenders are acid dipped then chrome plated. The fenders came out lighter than the factory fenders with paint (less than 8 1/2 pounds each). And the surface is much more durable than paint.
The hood is aluminum. I stripped the paint off with aircraft paint stripper (very toxic) then got it polished at a local polishing shop. I saved over 30 pounds compared to the original steel hood.
The hood scoop is plastic so I had to have a company in Utah use the "Alsa Corp" chrome paint process. Added 3 lbs. The Alsa Corp process is very heavy as many different layers are used in the process.
The real chrome plating process on the front fenders definetly has the best quality. And are the easiest to care for and is lighter. Just wipe down with a wet chamios cloth and follow up with a polishing rag.
The polished aluminum hood takes the most effort to care for. About once a month I polish it. But currently I had to make cut out vents to get the heat out of the engine bay so there isn't much surface area left and polishing doesn't take much time at all.
I wanted to have a unique look unlike no other and save a little weight at the same time.
The chrome front end usually gets positive remarks from people especially the old school hot rodders.

Sorry for not using a rotary. I'm aware of the loyalty most rotary owners have. It was easier for me to achieve my HP/TQ goals using an alternative route.

The fenders look awesome! The hood doesn't match up so well though.
I personally think chrome cars looks very nice. I definitely don't understand what all the hating is about?
