use 3m and have it laminated if you can. Clean clean clean make sure your surface is clean before putting down.

Planning on wrapping my FD in about two months. If no other replies by then, I'll report back with my results.

why cheap out in the end and most critical phase? 3m is the best material for wrapping, unless you like the material to start lifting/fading in a year or 2.

it's also not any easy job. to have a professional look requires professional experience or tons of time, patience and wasted materials.

I tried doing blue veilside kit has to many curves and cut outs unless the people doing yours can get it perfect but it's hard work to get it to perfection so I ended up just painting it

I want to get my FD wrapped too. I was thinking a blue camouflage.

Looking at the project, seems the rear spoiler would be the real bitch - but I'm not against the idea of removing it, plugging the holes somehow and wrapping over it.

How much should I expect to pay to have it professionally done vs how steep is the learning curve if I do it myself?

To be clear, will I waste more money and materials the first time learning WTF I am doing?

most real professional shops charge $1k plus materials for a wrap job. it will still also show some imperfections in the body if the car has any damage.

it's fairly easy to waste $300 in materials and wind up giving up in the end. starting with quality materials and a good heat source is a necessity.

have you thought about plasti dip? Herblenny has switched colors on us twice now via plasti dip and he seems pretty happy.

I had my fd done and there's just areas that require vinyl stitching.

Buying cheap China stuff is going to cause headaches or never turn out as you'd want.
There's a reason China stuff is cheap and 3M costs 2 -3 times as much.
There's things never should buy China made like baby toys, car parts, wires, electronics....oh...and food.

Only things that are ok are clothes.

Through a very convenient business deal, I'll be having my FD wrapped with a full racing livery. Will post pics when it eventually happens.

Cool Cool.

Well I can't do much now since I've already go the china stuff now.

Has anyone ever ordered wrap from china and can comment on their quality & durability. Particularly the chrome films.

Cheers
