I got the replica at the RX7 Store. You'll need a VERY good bodyman for it to fit reasonably well. No experience with the original, both available at the RX7 Store. And no, you'll need new turn signals.

I have the authentic (original) C-West N1 Kit. It fits perfectly with no modifications. Also, yes you need the new 99 turn signal lights with it, and you need to remove the front bumper support.

C West Replica

Hey there Sidestick,

Can you elaborate on the fitment issues you experienced?

I'm getting ready to order a new front this week and I'm torn between the replica and the original c-west.

How much did you pay to have it installed/painted?

yeah, if all the bodywork and a possible shitty fitment on the replica costed so much to fix, it might be wise jus tto get the real thing.

Well, where do I start? The cutouts for the headlight covers had to be reshaped, the area where the fenders meet the bumper had to be reshaped to minimize gaps, & the fenders themselves in the same area had to be flexed & moved around a bit to get a fairly smooth transition from fender to bumper. Oh, back on the headlights, The whole headlight systems had to be moved around too to get rid of any chafing of the headlight covers. Also the little "spikes" on the headlight lenses, the lower ones anyway, had to be shaved so they don't contact the bumper when retracting. Also, some creative work had to be done to minimize the gap between the hood & bumper. Last thing I remember is the lip didn't extend far back enough for the plastic undertray to be bolted onto it. Some sort of extension had to be made to join them together.

However, thank God I had a good guy working on my car, I was really impressed with all he had done to get it to work & it did look almost original when he was done. It's a pity I already busted the lower lip, victim of bad road conditions here in Jamaica after 3 weeks of flood rains.

As for price, I don't think it can really be compared with the US as the rates can vary a lot, but I was on a major freshening up of the front end which also included repainting the two fenders, the hood, two sideskirts & a Racing Beat TypeII wing. Equivalent of about $400.00.
