Advice

hey everyone i have tried to search and i keep getting a proxy error. anyways im looking into a project car. the thing basically needs a whole new interior which i know is a pain in the *** but just out of curiousity what would i be looking at price wise to get a whole interior set up. the 7 has always been my dream car and everyone i come accross i get a patch of bad luck and dont get it. and this car is offered at around 2500 said its harness is good and that it had an electrical fire inside... also told me that the engine runs good and is drivable. no real damage to the outside of the car except for the main things like paint chipping and all that stuff. but its a 93 im not 100% on the milage. does anyone think it might be worth a shot? thanks and too if you know anyone or any stores that do interior parts for the car it would be appareciated. and i did look in the faq and i didnt turn up much... just things like seats steering wheels and such. thanks a TON Seth

For a 93, it be hard, but you can find one that has been recked on the front and might be getting parted out so you can have 2 cars to make one. Other than that it will be a PITA to do but possible.

if you are good with tools and have some knowledge on auto mechanics, learning how to deal with a rotary is easy. Not everyone here was born an expert on rotary.

check out the 3rd gen classifieds section. there's always someone parting out complete interiors or interior pieces, etc. So in actuality, you can put together a car for not that much.

look at it this way, if you get a "crap engine" for 7500, then you'll have to either get it rebuilt or a new block which will cost you in the neighborhood of at least $2400 or so- so add that to the cost of just the car 7500 + 2400 = $9900. In that case, you're better off finding a car that's runs, which are plenty here, for the same price. On the other hand, if you go with the 2500 car that only needs interior, and a complete interior (if you're not picky on color tan vs black) it'll run you at the most $1000 and that's on the high side, it'll only come out to 3500. you have to weigh your options and see what best suits your budget and goals. just some helpful advice- once you buy a 7, you'll know where all your money will go...

lol well thanks for the insite! i know that the 7 is kind of a money pit but ever since i laid eyes on the thing i fell for it. i really dont mind what color the interior is... from what i understand the car is white which could work either way pretty easy. i was kinda thinking this could make a nice little addition. i mean for under 5k i could have a nice car that i would love. and i could just set a side a little cash every now and again to get it a little nicer and a little nicer. the owner just doesnt want to mess with it... he said its been sitting for a while. which i know isnt the greatest thing for this kind of car. but if the engine is in half way decient shape i might just go for it... i could leave out some interior and make it a race only thing which i wouldnt really want... but if need be it could happen. i would love to just fix it up get a nice intercooler for it... street port it. and some nice exhaust components and just enjoy it. lol
