99 Stereo

Does anybody have these to sell or know where I could get them. Plus the 99 Type Steering wheel with the Airbag.

add japanese OEM keyless entry to the list--really cool option, the transmitter is built into the key itself!

I have the 2002 Mazda RX-7 options brochure from Japan. One of the upgrade options for the car is a double din cd/tape made by AddZest (Clarion). I the exact one for sale if you are interested. I have all instructions, brand new remote, and wiring harness.

Let me know if you are interested, It retails for 54,500 jpy and I will let it go cheap.

Heres a pic of it: http://www.epinions.com/514256_Clari...sette_Receiver

0Piston: That looks beautiful. It's about 450 bucks right. I'd buy it now but I need the other one. The 99 one.

Gordon: Nice to see you're up also. LOL. I hope you're not pissed at me.

CCarlisi: Do you have a pic of that system. It sounds cool and very useful.

I got about 3 grand to spend. Any other interior suggestions would be appreciated.TIA.

I don't have a pic, but I believe it is in the option section of the 99 FD brochure. I originally saw it when someone posted a scan to show the passanger side metal foot rest. Would love more info on this.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the stereos in Japan could not be used in the US due to the different radio frequencies. We use a totally different frequency than they do.

You can use them, but all the music is played back in japanese -just trying to keep the thread alive. Someone figure out where I can get my keyless entry system!

You are right, I had it sold to Ronkmiller for 180 bucks, but I told him I wanted to test everything out before I shipped it to him... When I powered it on found out the he FM ranges are different from ours... Their FM frequency on the deck is 89.9 to 76.0. Damn it is a very nice deck too, it gives good power and with the z enhancers makes the cds sound nice, anyways if anyone knows someone who wants just a AM only hahaha, cassette, cd deck ... let me know

The cost to do a conversion like that would probably be more expensive (although I have not researched this)than to just purchase a CD/radio system in the US. If you wanted to upgrade the speakers in the car and install things such as a subwoofer, etc., then you might as well get upgrade your stock radio system to a better one anyway.

Here's a better picture of the Spirit-R dash...

For FM broadcasts, Japan uses the frequency band from 76 megahertz to 90 megahertz. The US uses 87.5 megahertz to 108 megahertz. There are "band expanders" available which will allow a Japanese stereo to receive US frequencies.

they changed the radio connectors in about 2000-2001 so you will need to get the connectors or dash harness or some ingenuity. it maight just be easier to get the whole car and ship it over....
