retexturing R1 lip: anyone done it?

I just got an R1 lip in the mail today, and it's quite well used...more so than i'd expected. At any rate, since the spoiler's so well-seasoned, I'd like to retexture it somehow and would imagine that there's some kind of paint that I could use to do it. Anyone ever done this? If so, please let me know what kind of paint you used and if you had to use any special techniques.

TIA,

I just got one today in the same condition. It must be in season. I'm going to try a few things to get the creases out of the bottom edge. A heat gun and some skill ought to do it. The scratches I think I'm going to have to live with.

urethan filler?

I recall using urethane filler at one time to patch bumpers for body kits et al. This stuff was german made, black in color, sandable and paintable. I recall finding it at a automotive paint store.

So basically, you spread it on, let it sure and then sand until smooth. Throw some semigloss paint on it an you are done.... let me know if you guys can find this stuff.

U can paint it but it'll crack bc it's soft. Don't know if you can just sand it and leave it black.

After sanding it try the black flexible bumper paint you can buy at Wal-Mart. I did the plastic pieces in front of the rear wheels and they turned out great.

Someone had pics at one time of their lip painted with spray undercoating. The undercoating has a slight pebbley appearance and therfore hides the scrapes in the lip. Cheap, and I thought it looked nice.

Thanks, I liked the way it came out, too
