Angry Wtf Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Conection Issue?

WHY THE HELL CANT I STILL CONNECT TO THE HALTECH?
I HAVE TRIED THE USB CONVERTER CABLE AND GOT IT TO WORK UP TO 99% OF THE BASE MAP LOADED BUT THEN IT ASKS SERIAL PASSWORD, then i call claudio and he said to buy a pcmia card with the rs 232 port on it and guess what i did and it doesnt get me half as close to what the cable does.... but its either a password for the cable or nothing at all with the damn card?

issues_ still says com port is being used by another device.. its not i have opened them all up.? plus i have set all the settings to what they are supposed to be, then i read on "myis.com" that someone was having the same issue and he said that he just changed the speed from 19200 to 112k but i dont ahve that under the options so i went through every ******* speed available even custom and i also uninstalled it all and reinstalled it all and still nothing.................

all i ned is to get my base map in it so i can start the sum buck. but i cant. i spent easily over 6 hours yesterday ******* with this with 2 different laptops and 3 different kinds of connections.. onlything i have tried is to try and find a express card version of the serial port adapter, the one i have is for pci i think?

pleae help me if you can im about to blow that ******* car up.

I would make sure you have the drivers up to date on the PCMCIA/serial adapter as it should work as it would be a direct port. I have not had luck connecting the E6x and usb/serial cables with a Vista notebook. I have used at least 3 different cables with varying levels of frustrations. What I don't understand is how I don't have any problem connecting to an E8 or E11V2 with the cables and vista but it won't work with the E6X. The only other two options I know of is to get a laptop with serial port or run dosbox and the dos software using the cable.

If the com port is being used by something else, try this:

Right click My Computer -> Properties and go to Device Manager
Click on Ports and Disable COM1 (or whatever Com port you are using)
Restart computer
Go back to Device Manager and enable COM1
Start Haltech program

alright so i got it all figured out tonight and i finally got it started... but it runs like poop and if i touch the throttle barely it jumps to 100% like the narrow band stock tps?

but it idles alright with a 11.5-12.5 afr but irratic b/c of the big street port but not like the old irractic idle?

the coolant temp guage both haltech and stock dont work?

heres the data

coolant temp- -40 deg. f
air temp- -40 deg.f
battery volt- 12.5
tps 0%
inj. time 3.890 ms
inj duty 5.1%
ing. adv. 15 deg.
spare ad 2529.4 mV
road speed 0
wastegate duty 0%
o2 connection .2%

any problems ?

thanks in advance

Get the two temp sensor connectors fixed, calibrate the TPS, then bother with how it runs thereafter. With both sensors disconnected, of course it'll run like "poop" because the ECU thinks the water and air temp are at 40 below.

Also, the stock water temp gauge doesn't work by default after removing the engine wiring harness even though it has nothing to do with the Haltech. It has to be manually re-spliced. Look for the yellow w/ red-stripe lead going to a rectangular, orange connector on the stock harness that heads for the passenger side foot-well area. Same with the wiper harness.

Good job getting it connected.

the -40 values (unless you are actually in -40 weather) are defalut/errornious. If you unplug the air temp sensor it will default to -40. So either you have both of the sensors unplugged, a break in the wiring, not wired correctly, or both sensors are completely pooched.

The TPS issue is just because it isn't adjusted. Its very simple to do. Go to the calibrate TPS window and follow the prompts. Basically, you start the calibration, enter the 0% value, mash the pedal, enter the 100% value and you're done. Just make sure you verify the throttle IS opening up/closing up all the way though.

For the stock coolant temp, you need to wire that back in (or don't touch the stock wiring when installing the haltech) for it to work. Its the sender over top of the oil pressure sender on the rear iron. Single wire.

i had the same problem, of the 100%tps.

i was told to just purchase the s5 throttle body, and it worked out fine. well, the 100% throttle problem.

well i knew about the temp guage not working and the tps is calibrated not works great but still temp guage on haltech and air temp still fubard but i drove it around alittle last night to clean the motor out since i have flooded it twice and not got it started so i push started it and let it run for about 10 mins then took it took the gas station to top it off and mix the oil up.

thanks brian for the wire reference for stock temp guage

also the connection issue was the laptop was retarded and so was i and it said that we were in the right com port but it was labeled com6.. but haltech only goes to com4 so after abit of messing around with it we got and no issues after.

also my air temp sensor didnt come with the pins for the connector so i just took two pins that worked out of a useless plug on my harness and the worked but still not reading? so can i buy those pins from a store or order them? cause its just a standard GM pin right?

hey brian does the timimg look fine?
